Third Grade/Fourth Grade

Classroom News

Week 13

Amazing!!!  It is the last week of the 1st Trimester and we only have a week before Thanksgiving.  Time seems to fly so fast at this time of the year.

The third and fourth graders would like to say thank you to everyone who purchased raffle and door tickets for this year's Auction and Gala and a special thanks goes to all of the parents that attended the event last Saturday night.  Thank you, also, to the parents that purchased our class projects.  We hope that you enjoy them for many years.  Please remember to give Sara Adams and all of the St. Nicholas Catholic School Board a huge thank you and hug because of all the hard work and time that they put into making the Gala a huge success!!!

It is the Thanksgiving Season.  Please know that we are grateful for each of our 3rd and 4th grade students.  We are so thankful to you for sharing them with us.  Please have a wonderful week and then have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  May God Bless You!

Popsicle sales are WEDNESDAYS this year.  Fifty cents a popsicle or contact the office to see what it costs for the entire year.

Spelling lists:

We have two spelling lists in our class: a blue list (third grade level) and a purple list (fourth grade level)  for the moment all the third grade students are learning and being tested on the blue list and the fourth graders are working from the purple list.  This is a fluid situation based on student need.  If a student receives a 100% on five consecutive spelling tests we will look at moving them into a more challenging list. I also have a yellow list that is a mix of sixth and seventh grade level words.

Important dates to remember:

There is no bussing for this Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14, because Minidoka School District is out of school for teacher work days.  St. Nicholas Catholic School is "IN", however.  Parents, please make arrangements to get your students to school.

This week the school is having its annual School Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 16, with turkey and all of the trimmings.  Parents and families are invited to join us on that day for the festive dinner.  Please RSVP with the office this week to let us know how much food (desserts and turkey!!!) to prepare.  Please call the office sometime this week but at least before 9:00 on Thursday morning.

Report cards for the first trimester will be coming home on Wednesday, November 29, after the week-long Thanksgiving break.  So, be watching for those.

I am blessed for the opportunity to bring God into my classroom at St. Nicholas.  I believe that all children have God-given potential and I love to work with students and families to reach that potential.  I am excited to form an educational team with students, parents and teachers to enhance children's education at St. Nicholas and assist in setting up students for success in their future.
